3 Different skill levels of sorting for children ages 3-8
Directions:
For this activity you will need play or real money.
For the first activity sheet, instruct your child to sort the quarters, dimes, nickels and pennies.
For the second, third and fourth sheets, instruct your child to count out the correct amount of change in each box. When your child is done, talk about different ways to count the same total. For example, for $0.51 if your child used five dimes and one penny ask/show them how to make it in a different way using two quarters and one penny. The fifth activity sheet is for the youngest learners who aren’t yet ready to count change or identify coins. They can simply count out the number of coins on the sheet.
