DIY Foam Bubble Blower

We had a great time making these bubble blowers!

Here is what you need:

  • A plastic bottle

  • Scissors or a box cutter

  • A sock

  • 2 rubber bands (we used hair bands)

  • Dish soap

  • Vegetable glycerine (this is optional, it makes for stronger bubbles)

To make the bubble solution, mix water, dish soap and vegetable glycerine with a 6:3:1 ratio. We made a large batch using 2 cups of water, 1 cup of dish soap and 1/3 cup of vegetable glycerine.

To assemble to bubble wand, cut the base from the plastic bottle using scissors or a box cutter. Pull the sock over the new opening and secure it tightly with the rubber bands.

Dip the sock end of the bubble wand into the bubble solution and blow into the open mouth of the bottle.

My daughters breathed out and in through the wand which drew some of the solution into the bottle. After a while I had to remove the sock and wash out the inside so they could start over again with a clean bottle.

I hope you give this one a try...my children had a great time making these enormous foam bubbles!
